If you’ll be tying the knot in 2017, you’re no doubt in the midst of planning your big day. Of course, your wedding should be an expression of your love as a couple – and will no doubt include touches that are personal to the two of you.
But it never hurts to look at wedding trends for a bit of inspiration, and the deputy editor of The Knot magazine Lauren Kay has shared her top 10 tips for the coming 12 months with Today.
Among them is a shift towards metallic wedding gowns with extra shimmer, as well as flowing, lightweight gowns for those with summer nuptials.
She also highlighted the growing trend of setting up ice breaker games for guests at weddings to help get everyone interacting.
And an interesting one where photography is concerned is the growing use of drones to capture a different perspective on your special day – this could allow you to get some stunning shots of your stylish wedding car in Manchester, or elsewhere, on the big day.
Brides magazine has also been asking experts for their top tips for 2017 trends, which include more couples heading to exotic destinations to tie the knot, as well as couples choosing more varied desserts than the standard wedding cake.
One trend identified by Ms Kay and Brides magazine is that of using vertical space, such as by hanging floral arrangements above the tables, rather than having them as a large centrepiece. This could also involve using elaborate chandeliers or more simplistic string lights.
