Brides to be take inspiration from all over the place when they’re planning their big day. Many don’t even choose traditional wedding dresses any more, opting instead for an outfit that better suits their personality.
As well as fashion houses and wedding trends, it’s highly likely that the red carpet offers up inspiration for brides and now one website has suggested that Jennifer Lawrence has showcased what could turn out to be a wedding favourite.
She attended the recent premiere of her film Mother! in a stunning gown by Christian Dior. The dress has a simple draped bodice, is backless with twisted straps and a magical tulle skirt. It’s all in a delicate shade of grey, which only adds to its ethereal quality.
Hellogiggles commented: “We wouldn’t be surprised if it set off a wedding dress chain reaction.”
The website added: “It’s wholly elegant, undeniably romantic, and incredibly flattering: all hugely important qualities when it comes to a wedding dress, if you ask us.”
Of course, most brides to be are unlikely to be able to splash out on a couture number by Christian Dior, but there are bound to be replicas on offer soon. Just imagine stepping out of your chosen wedding car in Manchester in a jaw-dropping dress like that.
The good news for brides is that the price of wedding dresses has been falling, or at least the average amount we spend on our outfits for the big day has. Research published last month by fashion marketplace Lyst found that, on average, women spent £832 on their dress which equates to a 20 per cent drop from the year before.
