Easter is a fantastic time for a wedding, with spring in the air, the sun beginning to shine, and the long, dark days behind us.
So, if you’re keen on holding your special day on an Easter weekend, here are some tips to incorporate the theme into your wedding.
– Spring flowers
The budding of daffodils traditionally marks the start of spring, so why not fill your bouquets, Hale wedding car and table vases with arrangements of the beautiful yellow flower?
Alternatively, there are other blooms in season at this time of the year, including peonies, cornflowers and freesias – all of which will look beautiful against a pastel pallet of pale greens, pinks, greens and blues.
– Easter lunch
You might want to be really traditional at your Easter-themed wedding and serve delicious roast lamb, with new potatoes and fresh greens.
However, any spring dish would go down well at this time of the year, from asparagus wrapped in prosciutto for starters to baked salmon for a mains.
You could also serve an authentic Simnel fruitcake as your wedding cake, or embrace the obsession of chocolate at Easter and have a really decadent triple fudge cake. Whatever you choose, old-fashioned sweet bags full of small chocolate eggs are sure to go down a treat with guests.
– Entertainment
If you’re having children at your wedding, why not host an Easter egg hunt and hide little chicks and chocolate eggs around the gardens?
You could also keep kids amused by putting on some Easter crafts, such as making their own bonnet and making tissue paper bunnies. You could even end up using some of the beautiful creations as table centrepieces if you have some talented kids among your guests.
