Would You Have An Underwater Wedding?

Everyone wants their wedding to be unique and special, don’t they? Well, if you’re looking for something extra special, why don’t you consider heading to SEA LIFE in Blackpool as you can now have your very own wedding beneath the waves.

Blackpool Council’s Register Office has just granted the attraction a wedding licence so you can now say your vows in the shark tunnel, surrounded by sharks and rays, or you can opt to get wed in front of the ocean window with all sorts of sea creatures making up the congregation.

And, perhaps even more excitingly, you could even get hitched while snorkelling in the shark cage – although chances are you might forget your vows, since it’s sure to be an incredible experience and you might get a little bit side-tracked.

After the ceremony, there will be a full wedding breakfast, as well as champagne and canapes provided for guests on arrival.

General manager Matthew Titherington said: “Blackpool Register Office were pleasantly surprised by our request and think it will make an exciting venue and we believe the first of its kind in the UK. We can promise couples a truly memorable and unusual wedding day. It’ll be a fantastic experience with all the beautiful fish and sea creatures swimming nearby in one of the UK’s most unusual and memorable wedding venues.”

If this doesn’t appeal, why don’t you take a leaf out of Australian couples’ books and have your wedding on dry land but then follow it up with a few in-water shots? According to the Daily Mail, Trash the Dress photo shoots – where brides and grooms put on their wedding attire and leap into the deep to take stunning underwater snaps – are now increasing in popularity.
