If you’re getting hitched this year, it might be a good idea to clear some space in your diary on April 9th, as National Trust property Calke Abbey near Ticknall in Derbyshire is putting on a pop-up wedding village that could help you with some – or all – of your preparations.
The event will see more than 60 suppliers on hand to help you come up with some ideas for your own big day, with tipis, designer wedding dresses, flowers, cakes and more to be found on site. You can also check out the Calke Abbey Riding School, which is available for hire as a wedding venue with space for up to 240 guests.
The Riding School itself is a barn venue that’s sure to impress, nestled in 604 acres of Derbyshire parkland. If you’re looking for somewhere that will ensure you get incredible wedding photos, this would certainly be a good choice, since there’s a walled meadow and gardens, an orangery with a domed ceiling, the house itself of course and the grounds as well… the options are endless!
Speaking to the Derby Telegraph, one of the organisers of the pop-up wedding Helen Stephenson said: “This event is a must if you are searching for something special and stylish. Calke Abbey is one of Derbyshire’s most unique wedding venues.”
Of course, if Derbyshire is too far to go for your wedding there are many places in and around Manchester that are similar to Calke Abbey Riding School, so make sure you do your research to see what’s closer to home.
