We’re sure that’s how one newlywed couple now feel, after they accidentally crashed their Ferrari Spider wedding car (worth an impressive £240,000) the day after the wedding when the groom’s foot got caught on the car mat and he hit the accelerator instead of the brake, crashing the supercar in his friend’s garden, the Daily Mail reports.
Usman Ali, 25, could now be liable to pay approximately £25,000 because of the crash, losing his £5,000 deposit and paying a £20,000 excess. Luckily, however, Mr Ali emerged from the crashed car completely unscathed – to the relief of his new bride, Sakina Parveen, we’re sure.
One of Mr Ali’s friends told the news source that Mr Ali is a car fanatic, which is why he hired the supercar for his wedding, but added: “He’s a good lad and he works hard, but I don’t think he had enough experience driving this sort of car. It’s a rear-wheel drive and has 500 or so horsepower, so it’s not easy to get the hang of straight away.”
